Friends of Minidoka to Host Webinar on Historic Preservation Projects at Minidoka National Historic Site
Twin Falls, Idaho — Friends of Minidoka invites the public to attend a free webinar, Legacy Restoration Funds at Work: Minidoka National Historic Site, on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. MDT via Zoom.
This webinar will provide an inside look into ongoing preservation efforts at Minidoka National Historic Site, a unit of the National Park Service located in Jerome, Idaho. Funded through the Legacy Restoration Fund of the Great American Outdoors Act, this $8.1 million project is a significant investment in restoring the historic root cellar, barrack, and mess hall and the construction of a new maintenance facility. A former WWII incarceration site, Minidoka NHS ensures that future generations continue to learn from the lessons and legacy of the unjust incarceration of over 13,000 Japanese Americans at Minidoka.
National Park Service staff from Minidoka National Historic Site and the Historic Preservation Training Center will share updates on the restoration projects and discuss the challenges and opportunities involved in preserving historic structures.
The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
