Deepest thanks for your interest in our June 1st Minidoka Summer with Kishi Bashi at Cedar Draw Cider with Magic Valley Food Dude. Sadly, we must cancel the event due to illness. We truly apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your interest in this event and hope you will join us for future events.
However, we are so happy to let you know that the special small batch ciders made from apples from the Kiyokawa Family Orchards by Emily Mason of Cedar Draw Cider, are available for tasting and purchase! If you are interested, please text or call Emily at 509-844-3279. Descriptions of the ciders are below.
Ciders made with Kiyokawa Family Orchard Apples -- All dry with no residual sugar.
Mountain Rose
6.9% ABV. Mountain Rose apples, also known as Airlie are an apple with red
flesh that give the juice and resulting cider its pink hue. Smells faintly of baked apple and warm
spices.
Yarlington Mill
7.0% ABV is a traditional cider apple variety originally from the village of
Yarlington in Somerset England. It has rich, well-rounded tannins that create a unique cider
with depth and full apple flavor.
Wickson Vixen
7.2% ABV Is our original favorite cider apple and the reason we connected with
Kiyokawa orchards. It is made with Wickson Crab Apples which are high tannin, high sugar and
high acid apples that deliver quite a burst of flavor for something so small. This cider needs
aged for at least a year to let the tannins temper ( this Wickson was harvested in Fall of ’23) The
resulting cider is fresh and bright with notes of stone fruit.Join Friends of Minidoka for an afternoon at Cedar Draw Cider in Buhl for activities, dinner with Magic Valley Food Dude, and a short performance by Kishi Bashi.
